Bleeding Control For Community Responders

Unfortunately, there are more mass casualty events in the United States and around the globe due to serious accidents or active threat incidents. Citizens are generally the first to arrive on a scene before 911 has been called and professional EMS providers arrive. These critical moments can make the difference between life and death for individuals with critical injuries.  This online course trains bystanders how to administer care to others with confidence in a life-threatening situation, where a victim or victims may lose their life due to a serious injury.

Heartsaver CPR AED

The Heartsaver CPR Course teaches CPR and relief of choking in adults and children and infant CPR and relief of choking, and use of barrier devices for all ages.

For those who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements. This would include teachers, fitness trainers and coaches.

(This course is NOT for Healthcare Providers.  If you work or plan to work in a healthcare environment please take BLS – Basic Life Support to fulfill your CPR requirement.)

After successfully completely this course, students should be able to:

  • Describe how high-quality CPR improves survival
  • Explain the concepts of the Chain of Survival
  • Recognize when someone needs CPR
  • Perform high-quality CPR for an adult
  • Perform as a team member during multi-rescuer CPR
  • Give effective breaths using mouth-to-mouth or a mask for all age groups
  • Demonstrate how to use an AED on an adult
  • Perform high-quality CPR for a child
  • Demonstrate how to use an AED on a child (optional)
  • Perform high-quality CPR for an infant (optional)
  •  Describe how to use an AED on an infant (optional)
  • Describe when and how to help a choking adult or child
  • Demonstrate how to help a choking infant (optional)

Comprehensive safety training for the workplace.

After successfully completely this course, students should be able to:

  • List the priorities, roles, and responsibilities of the first aid rescue
  • Describe the key steps in first aid
  • Remove protective gloves
  • Find the problem
  • Describe the assessment and first aid actions for the following life-threatening conditions: heart attack, difficulty breathing, choking, severe bleeding, shock and stroke
  • Use an epinephrine pen
  • Control bleeding and bandaging
  • Recognize elements of common injuries
  • Recognize elements of common illnesses
  • Describe how to find information on preventing illness and injury
  • Recognize the legal questions that apply to first aid rescuers

Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED

Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid with CPR & AED is a classroom course that is designed to meet OSHA requirements.

The course teaches basic First Aid, CPR, and AED skills such as:

  • Helping someone with a possible broken bone or sprain
  • Giving CPR to an infant, child, or an adult
  • Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

Refund Policy/Cancellation Policy:

Students have the right to reschedule their reservation for up to but no more than six (6) months from the date of their registration. Students also have the right to cancel their reservation and obtain a full refund as long as arrangements are made 24 hours prior to the class.* A $10.00 cancellation fee will apply for those cancellations made within 24 hours of the class.

*Please Note: Refunds cannot be issued to those students who have purchased the online AHA Web Key (Online & Skills Test) course.*

**For Students that are completing the ACLS or PALS Online and Skills test, there will be a $25 rescheduling fee if less than 24 hours notice.**
